Tonsillitis,a homeopathic way to cure

Tonsillitis is the inflammation of tonsils. Symptoms may include sore throat, fever, difficulty in swallowing & enlargement of lymph nodes around neck.

Common Homoeopathic Remedies –

1. Belladonna:

When there is intense redness of the throat with heat and burning. The tonsils become red as if looking angry. Tonsils swell and enlarge. Swallowing is difficult and it is even more difficult to swallow liquids. The face becomes hot, red and flushed. The mouth and throat are dry but there is no desire to drink water. High grade fever may be present along with tonsillitis.

2. Phytolacca decandra:

Use phytolacca mother tincture as gurgle with lukewarm water (5-10 drops of medicine mixed with ½ cup of water two to three times daily or as prescribed by the physician). Also use it in 30th potency (4 globules twice daily till symptoms persist or as prescribed by the physician) for internal use. Follicular pharyngitis, throat feels extremely hot, pain at root of tongue extending to ear, better by warmth drinks, worse at night.

3. Mercurius bin iodatus flavus:

Tonsillitis worse on right side with constant inclination to swallow, symptoms worse at night, thirst for water with a moist imprinted tongue.

4. Mercurius iodatus ruber:

Tonsillitis worse on left side with constant inclination to swallow, symptoms worse at night, thirst for water with a moist imprinted tongue.

5. Baryta carbonica:

Takes cold easily. Suppurating tonsils from every cold. Quinsy.

6. Hepar sulphur:

When there is formation of pus in the tonsils. There is intense pain and sensitivity. Slightest cold air or water can cause the problem. While swallowing, there is pain in the throat as if a splinter is there. The pain may extend to the ears while swallowing. Chilliness may also be present with other symptoms of tonsillitis.

7. Wyethia:

Excellent remedy in pharyngitis especially the follicular form.
